Design Work Policy

This policy applies whenever a designer works on a customer's model through Vextrix3D - modelling from a sketch, repairing a file, reverse engineering a part, or preparing a model for printing. It binds both sides: the customer who commissions the work, and the designer who carries it out. Where it differs from a private arrangement between the two of you, this policy applies.

Briefs, files, revisions, messages and payments all go through Vextrix3D. That is not bookkeeping: it is what makes the rest of this policy work. A conversation held here can be produced in a dispute, a file uploaded here is covered by our confidentiality and intellectual-property terms, a payment made here is protected if the work is not delivered, and a designer's identity has been verified against a government-issued document before they are given anyone's model.

None of that follows you off the platform. A job arranged privately has no agreed scope we can point to, no record of what was promised, no protection for either side, and no recourse for us to offer when it goes wrong.

You must not, whether directly or through anyone else:

- invite, suggest, or agree to continue a job outside Vextrix3D, including on another platform;
- send or request payment for platform work by any means other than Vextrix3D, and in particular not by bank transfer, cash, or a payment app;
- invoice a customer or designer directly for work quoted here;
- share or ask for contact details - email addresses, phone numbers, messaging handles, social profiles, company websites, calendar or file-sharing links - in messages, file names, model comments, or anything else uploaded here;
- use a brief, a model, or a conversation on this platform to advertise services elsewhere, or to recruit a customer or designer away from it.

Vextrix3D charges a fee on work arranged through it, and that fee is what funds the verification, the payment protection, the dispute handling and the platform itself. Arranging around the fee is a breach of this policy whether or not any money changes hands, and we treat a quiet attempt to do so the same as an open one.

Nothing here stops you from working together elsewhere on something genuinely unconnected to Vextrix3D, or from having an existing relationship that predates the platform. What it stops is moving work that started here, or that was found here, out of it.

A designer is given only what the job needs, and only for as long as it takes. If you are a designer, you must not copy a customer's personal details out of the platform, keep them after the work is finished, contact the customer for any purpose other than the job in hand, add them to a mailing or marketing list, or pass their details to anyone else - including a colleague, a subcontractor, or another customer.

If you are a customer, please do not press a designer for personal contact details or offer your own. It puts them in breach of this policy, and it is the most common way a job ends up somewhere neither of you is protected.

A customer owns their model and everything derived from it. A designer is granted a limited licence to use the files for the assigned job and nothing else - no reuse in another project, no adaptation for a different customer, no resale, and no publication.

A designer must not show a customer's model or brief in a portfolio, a case study, a social post, or a message to anyone else without the customer's written permission, obtained through Vextrix3D. Nor may files be uploaded to a third-party service - including cloud storage, a print service, a marketplace, or an AI tool - without that permission, because doing so hands somebody else's design to a company neither of you has an agreement with.

Treat everything you see through an assignment as confidential, including the fact of the job itself. Delete local working copies once the work is accepted, keeping only what you need for a revision request. Confidentiality does not end when the job does.

Designers agree to work to the scope and timescale accepted in the platform, to say so promptly when something cannot be delivered as agreed, to describe their skills and experience honestly, and not to hand a job to somebody else without our written consent. Do not submit work that is not yours, that infringes a third party's rights, or that was generated in a way the brief excludes.

Customers agree to provide files they have the right to have worked on, to give feedback and approvals through the platform, and not to expand a job beyond what was quoted without agreeing it here first.

Designers work with Vextrix3D as independent contractors. Nothing in this policy creates employment, partnership, or agency, and a designer must not present themselves as an employee or as speaking for Vextrix3D.

Vextrix3D is not a party to any private arrangement made outside the platform. We cannot help with one, we will not mediate one, and any loss arising from one falls on the people who made it.

Depending on what happened and whether it was repeated, we may withdraw access to a job, withhold or reverse a payment, suspend or close an account, revoke a designer's verification, and decline to work with the person again. Where work was taken off the platform to avoid a fee, we may charge the fee that would have been due.

A serious breach of confidentiality or of somebody's intellectual property may also be a matter for the courts, and this policy does not limit what either of you may pursue separately.

If you are asked to move a job, a conversation, or a payment off the platform, or asked for personal contact details, please report it rather than agreeing to it. Reporting something that was asked of you is never itself a breach, and we would far rather hear about it early than discover it later.

We may update this policy as the service changes. The version below is the one in force, and it applies to work accepted after the date it carries.
